Breads - Yeast BreadsOUTBACK STEAKHOUSE BREAD
1 1/4 cups warm water
2 tsp sugar
2 1/4 tsp yeast
2 cups white flour
1 3/4 cups whole wheat flour
1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup honey
2 tbsp molasses
2 tbsp butter, melted
1 1/4 tsp red food coloring
1 tsp yellow food coloring
1 tsp blue food coloring
cornmeal (optional)
Mix sugar, warm water and yeast together; set aside.
Mix together flours, cocoa powder and salt in large bowl; set aside.
Combine the honey, butter and molasses. Add food colorings along with the bubbly yeast mixture. Introduce the dry ingredients slowly, mixing after each addition. Knead well. Cover bowl and let rise in warm place for 1 1/2 hours (until doubled).
After rising, divide dough into 5 or 6 balls and rolls each and then shape into mini loaves and roll into cornmeal to lightly coat (can use an egg wash by taking the white of an egg and mixing it with a tsp of water and brushing it over loaves before rolling in the cornmeal). Place loaves onto cookie sheets, cover and let rise for another 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
Bake in a preheated 350 degree F oven for 35 to 45 minutes.
