Recipe(tried): Party ideas from an 80th birthday party

I just attended a wonderful 80th and thought you might be interested in some of the things that were done for the guest of honor. First, each guest recieved a crossword puzzle with questions that had to do with the celebrant i.e who was president the year she was born, what was her pet's name, what was her wedding song, etc. The first one to get all of the answers correct was awarded the centerpiece. Also, they made up labels with pictures and the year from throughout her life and each guest was asked to wear one. It made for some great conversation and gave the guests a chance to mingle. Also, they had the local boys choir come to serenade the guest of honor with some of the songs back from "her day". It was truly memorable. There is a website that you can make up a page about all that was going on the day she was born (dMarie.com). Hope this helps. Good luck.
