Georgia Peach Cobbler
6 T. butter or margarine
3/4 c. all purpose flour
2 c. sugar, divided
2 t. baking powder
1/8 t. salt
3/4 c. milk
2 c. sliced fresh or frozen peaches
cream, whipped cream or ice cream
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt butter in 1 1/2 quart casserole. Combine flour, 1 cup of sugar, baking powder, salt and milk; mix well. Pour batter evenly into melted butter without stirring. Combine peaches with remaining cup of sugar; dump into middle of batter without stirring. Bake about 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Serve warm with cream, whipped cream or ice cream.
