Recipe: Peanut Butter Spread
SandwichesADVERTISEMENT
This sounds similar, if not exactly, what you're looking for, Angie. Perhaps you can adapt it by omitting the bacon and subbing the honey with Karo. It should give you a general idea about proportions.
PEANUT BUTTER SPREAD
2 c. creamy peanut butter
1 lg. jar marshmallow cream
1 c. honey
1/2 to 1 lb. bacon, fried crisp*
Fry bacon very crisp. Place between paper towels and roll with rolling pin until most of the grease is out and the bacon is finely crumbled.* Set aside. Blend peanut butter, marshmallow cream and honey together until well mixed. Add the bacon bits and put in a tightly sealed jar. This does not have to be refrigerated.
[*If I were to make this, I'd simply use a 3-ounce container of commercially prepared real bacon bits. It gives the equivalent of a 12-16 ounces of bacon without the fat.)
