Recipe: Philly Marble Brownies (with cream cheese and chocolate chips, using brownie mix)

1 (21 1/2 oz.) pkg. brownie mix
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Prepare brownie mix as directed on package. Spread batter in greased 13x9-inch baking pan. Set aside.
Mix cream cheese, sugar and vanilla until well blended. Blend in egg. Pour over brownie batter; cut through batter with knife several times for marble effect. Sprinkle with chips,
Bake at 350 degrees F for 35 to 40 minutes or until cream cheese mixture is lightly browned. Cool in pan on wire rack. Cut into squares.
Makes 2 dozen squares
