Recipe: Pineapple Glazed Ham Balls (Quaker Oats, 1963)

PINEAPPLE GLAZED HAM BALLS

FOR THE HAM BALLS:
1 1/2 lb. ground cooked ham
3/4 cup Quaker or Mother's Oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked)
2 eggs, beaten
1 tablespoon firmly-packed brown sugar
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
FOR THE SAUCE:
2 cups pineapple juice
1 cup water
1/4 cup lemon juice
2/3 cup firmly-packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
20 whole cloves

TO MAKE THE HAM BALLS:
Combine all ingredients thoroughly. Shape into 16 balls; chill at least 1 hour.

WHEN READY TO COOK:
Lightly brown ham balls in small amount of shortening in large frying pan.

Combine all ingredients for the sauce. Pour over ham balls. Cook over low heat about 45 minutes.

Makes 8 servings
