A seasoned hamburger without a bun is often known as:
SALISBURY STEAK
1 (10 3/4 ounces) can condensed golden mushroom soup, divided use
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1/2 cup dried bread crumbs
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/3 cup water
In a medium bowl, thoroughly mix 1/4 cup (undiluted) soup, beef, bread crumbs, onion and egg; firmly shape into 6 patties.
Over medium heat, heat 10-inch skillet until very hot. Add patties; cook 3 to 4 minutes on each side until browned. Pour off fat.
Stir remaining (undiluted) soup and 1/3 cup water into skillet. Cover cook over low heat 20 minutes or until done, stirring occasionally.
Makes 6 servings
