Recipe: Savannah-Style Crab Soup (crock pot)

SAVANNAH-STYLE CRAB SOUP

2 cups fresh flaked crabmeat
2 cups milk
2 cups half & half
3 TBSP. butter
2 (3inch) strips lemon peel
1/2 tsp. ground mace
1/2 cup crushed saltines
2 Tbsp. dry sherry
salt & pepper to taste

Combine all ingredients, except sherry and saltines, in a crock pot. Stir well. Cover and cook on low for 3 to 5 hours. Just before serving, add sherry and saltines (to thicken).
