Preserving - Pickles, Relishes
We have been making slippery jacks since 50s. Cukes are better when large and yellow.

SLIPPERY JACK PICKLES

9 cucumbers
2 large onions, sliced
1/4 cup salt

Cut cukes in slivers, put salt on soak overnight.

Drain and wash.

Boil:
2 cups sugar
1 tbsp celery seed
1 1/4 tbsp corn starch
3/4 tbsp tumeric
3/4 tsp curry
1/2 tsp dry mustard
2 cups water
for 5 minutes.

Pour over cucumbers. Refrigerate.
