Recipe: Strawberry Sweet as a Kiss Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting and Strawberry Glaze)

FOR THE CAKE:
1 stick (1/2 cup) margarine or butter, softened
4 eggs
1 (2-layer-size) box Duncan Hines butter cake mix
2/3 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
FOR THE FROSTING:
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 1/2 cups confectioner's sugar
1 (12 ounce) carton Cool Whip
2 drops lemon juice
FOR THE GLAZE:
1 pint fresh strawberries
1 carton strawberry glaze
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease and flour two (9-inch) cake pans.
Cream butter and eggs in bowl with electric mixer. Add (dry) cake mix, milk and vanilla. Mix well. Divide batter in prepared cake pans.
Bake at 325 degrees F until cakes test done. Cool for 5 minutes in pans, then remove cake from pans and place on wire racks to cool completely.
Mix frosting ingredients together. Frost and stack cake layers.
Wash and slice strawberries. Stir into the strawberry glaze and top cake with berry mixture. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
Makes 1 (9-inch, 2-layer) cake
