Recipe: Stuffed Yeast Bread

STUFFED YEAST BREAD

3 1/4 cups flour
1 tbsp sugar
1 pkg yeast (rapid rise)
1 tsp salt
1 cup hot water
1 tsp butter
STUFFING IDEAS:
chopped broccoli and cheese
spinach and cheese
hamburger, spaghetti sauce and cheese

COOK THE STUFFING PRIOR TO PUTTING IT ONTO THE BREAD DOUGH.

Mix 2 1/4 cups flour, sugar, yeast and salt together. Add the 1 cup hot water and butter gradually. Add enough of the remaining 1 cup flour to make the dough kneading consistency. Knead 7 to 10 minutes. Place in a greased bowl; cover and let rise.

Roll it out into a 14x10-inch rectangle. Place on a greased baking sheet . Spread the (well-drained) stuffing lengthwise down the center third of the dough. Cut 10 cuts in the dough each side and bring each strip over the filling (braid it across).

Bake at 400 degrees F for 25 minutes.
