Recipe: Sugar Coated Peanuts

Janice, I found the recipe for the sugar-coated peanuts.
Still no success with the almond one though.
I shall keep trying for you...Angel.

Sugar Coated Peanuts

250g white sugar
1/2 cup water
2 cups raw shelled peanuts - skins left on
Little red food colouring


Dissolve sugar in water in saucepan over medium heat.
Add peanuts and red food colouring.
Continue to cook over medium heat, stirring frequently.
Cook until peanuts are completely sugar coated and no syrup remains, (takes about 30 minutes)
Spread onto an ungreased oven tray; separate peanuts with a fork.
Bake at 150*C for 30 minutes.
Stir at 10 minute intervals.
Yield; about 500g.
