My B & D Manual says that in Canada we use the regular flour which is all purpose but in the U.S., they should use Bread Flour as their flour is not the same as here. The wheat is different. I have had my machine for over 8 years and have always used the regular flour. i would imagine that you could use Bread Flour but it is not necessary. I don't know about BC but Bread Flour is hard to find in the usual chain grocery stores where I live. Hopw this helps you. All the best, Judy
