Recipe: Vermouth Basted Baked Chicken or Turkey

Vermouth Basted Baked Chicken or Turkey

We use this all the time. I have even basted the Thanksgiving turkey with the Vermouth mix.

1/4 cup Vermouth
1/8 cup oil
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon onion salt
1 whole roasting chicken

Preheat oven to 375F.

Mix Vermouth, oil, garlic salt, and onion salt in a small saucepan; warm on stove.

Place chicken or turkey in roasting pan. Bake until done basting every so often with Vermouth mixture.

approx. times for chicken:
(1 1/2 to 2 pounds) 3/4 to 1 hour
(2 to 2 1/2 pounds) 1 to 1 1/4 hours
(2 1/2 to 3 pounds) 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours
