ISO: Christmas Tree Cookie recipe

There was a cookie Christmas Tree on the front cover of a Good Houskeeping magazine around 1963. The star shaped cookies had halves of almonds on each tip, and there were circles of the dough in between the stars of graduating sizes to the top which was two small stars sandwiched together as the top. There are tons of cookie Christmas Trees out there, but I want THAT recipe! Anyone have it?
