ISO: Does anybody have a recipe for charo beans that does not have beer in it?

I would like a recipe for charo beans that does not have beer in it. Or what can be used to substitute for the beer? A restaurant in Tucson, AZ (La Parrilla Suiza) makes really good charo beans but I can't get their recipe.
