COMPANY BAKED HAM
"This is by far the best ham you'll ever taste and it can be made a day ahead, leaving you time with your guests instead of spending it in the kitchen!"
10 lb fully cooked, top quality boneless ham
1 (32 oz) can pineapple juice
2 to 3 cups brown sugar (about half a bag)
1 tsp ground cloves
2 tsp ground cinnamon
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Place all ingredients (except ham) in a roaster pan, stirring well until brown sugar is dissolved.
Trim outer skin from ham, make a slit with knife on the bottom, sides and top of ham. Place ham in juice mixture in roaster pan.
Cover with lid or 2 layers of tin foil and bake approximately 2 hours. Baste every 30 minutes until done. Remove lid or tin foil and let cool.
When cool enough to handle, slice the ham and put the slices back into the juices in the pan. Place the covered pan in the fridge for several hours or overnight (this allows the ham to absorb all the delicious flavor of the juice).
When ready to serve, reheat in same covered pan, at 350 degrees F in the oven.
Makes 30 servings (4 oz each)
