ISO: Fresh Apple Layer Cake

I recently enjoyed a piece of fresh apple cake, and would love to have a recipe similar. It was a very moist, heavy cake. Yet it was a two layer cake, with a cinnamon type frosting.
Any of you wonderfully creative readers have any such thing???
