ISO: Looking For a Candy Cane Cookie Recipe

A friend's mother in Vermont used to make these wonderfull cookies made to look like candy canes or other pressed cookies and they just melted in your mouth they were so good .They were not the spritz cookies . The recipe came from New England. If any one has any ideas it would be appreciated.
