Nutty Nilla Wafer Balls (vanilla wafers, peanuts, honey, and dates) (1983)
2/3 cup chopped Planters Cocktail Peanuts, divided use
1 (12 ounce) package Nilla Vanilla Wafers, finely rolled (about 3 1/4 cups crumbs)
1/2 cup snipped Dromedary Pitted Dates
1/3 cup honey
1/3 cup orange juice
2/3 cup semisweet-chocolate chips
Reserve 2 tablespoons peanuts. Combine Nilla Wafer crumbs, dates and remaining nuts.
Stir together honey and orange juice; blend with crumb-nut mixture. Shape into balls, using 1 tablespoon mixture for each.
Melt chocolate chips over low heat; dip tops of balls into chocolate; sprinkle with reserved nuts.
Makes 4 dozen
