ISO: looking for cream(ed) filberts

My mother loves cream(ed) filberts - "Mothballs" as we called them. The candy, not the cookie. They were a hazelnut encased in a thick sugar coating with crystallized sugar on the outside. The last time I found them was about five years ago on Cape Cod. Vermont Country store used to carry them but no more. I have been on the look out for ages. I hope to hear from you someday. BTW - have you tried making them - sounds difficult.
