ISO: Love's BBQ Beans - plus ingredient tips

Misc.
I worked at the La Mirada Love's back in the early 80's. I remember the chefs adding the day-old pies to their beans for the sweet taste - you would never know it! I was surprised. They did put the outer layer of the beef as well and some of the fat from the meat. I haven't tried the recipe on line, but I'm going to soon! Miss them beans! I wish they would open another Love's in southern California soon. I guess they only have one in Indonesia according to their Web site. They also made a great "Frankfurter" - it was great with the beans!
