ISO: Pfeffernusse cookies with walnut in the middle

Lost my mother's recipe for these cookies. These cookies are very spicy. I remember you chilled the dough and then pinched off pieces of dough and formed them into a ball around a half walnut. You baked them and then cooled them, dunked them in milk and then into powdered sugar and kept them in a crock with half an apple to keep them soft.
