ISO: re flat cookies

i have the same problem and tried a zillion things to make the cookies look picture perfect....but it never happens.....if u figure it out let me know the other thing i didnt try yet was to use self rising flour and just do the recipe as the directions say....if anyone can solve the problem please let me know......they are the uglest cookies i ever seen when they are flat
