ISO: Red Velvet Cake using red beets in place of red food coloring

I would like the recipe for Red Velvet Cake using baby food red beets, or, the process of using canned red beets. Many years ago, 80 perhaps, my grandmother made this recipe using red beets in place of food coloring, which made a very moist and healthy cake. Thank you
