Recipe(tried): Poona Rice (Yellow Rice) - Tracey is this recipe similar to yours?

Side Dishes - Rice, Grains
I think that my friend, Mariana, may have served this with Bobotie but she could have added raisins and cinnamon. I just don't remember. It was too long ago. At any rate, this is a good recipe but probably isn't authentic. Tracey, I would love it if you'd post your recipe for Yellow Rice. That way, maybe I can put together a somewhat more authentic meal:-)

POONA RICE

1 1/4 cups water
1/2 cup rice
2 tsp. chicken stock base or 2 chicken bouillon cubes (You could just use 1 1/4 cup chicken stock.)
1 tsp. curry powder
1/4 tsp. turmeric
1/4 tsp. salt

Place all ingredients in saucepan. Bring to boil, cover and cook over low heat 20 minutes or until rice is tender.
