ISO: What kind of silicone?

Misc.
What form of silicone do I use for dipping light bulbs. I have tried the silicone sealant in a tube and it kind of worked, except that it was too thick and didnt give me smooth results. Do I heat it? or does a liquid form exist rather than the thick sticky type? Help!
