ISO: Why is my banana bread all crumbly?
Misc.Hoping someone can help me. I've been using the same banana bread recipe for over 25 years but today I am so disappointed with my results..
I made 2 and they are soooooo crumbly. As soon as I cut into them the pieces started falling apart. Not just a few crumbs - it was really hard to keep a piece together.
The ingredients are sugar, butter, egg, bananas, flour, baking powder, baking soda. Bake at 325 for an hour.
My baking powder is really old but I did the test first in hot water and it fizzed. Same as the test for the baking soda - fizzed in vinegar.
Hoping someone may know what could possibly cause this to have happened?
Please help. Thank You! :)
