Thank You: Double-layered half-sheet cake

I would like to know how to level the cake "dome" as you suggested so if you don't mind sending that information, I would appreciate it.

Also, is there an easy way of handling the top layer when placing it over the lower layer so that it would break in two other than freezing the layer? This is where I've had the problem of placing two levels together.
