Thank You: Former Hemstroughts Bakery employee and these are the real thing!

My mother "Doris" worked at Hemstroughts "Uptown" for over thirty years and I worked there in highschool and college. Growing up we lived on all of their great bakery items, even through the years as my children were born and raised in another town. Everytime Grandma Doris came to visit or we returned to Utica, we enjoyed the famous Half Moon Cookies (and all of the other tasty treats). The original Hemstrought and Morgan families were great employers and treated all of their employees as family. I am so glad to see that the receipe lives on. As my Mom has now passed and we do not visit Utica very often, I was looking for a receipe that would bring back some of those old family memories for this Thanksgiving. Thank you for the chance to do this.
