Misc.
And welcome home! It turned hot down here in FL during the time we were up north, so we drove back into "summer" and it certainly has been SUMMER down here - mid-90s and high humidity. But today and tomorrow a "cold front" came through so it's only high 80s and much drier, so I think I will take the opportunity to get out early tomorrow morning and trim shrubs and pull weeds which went wild during our absence.

Glad your trip was good. Loved the photos! And I especially liked all the recipes from Publix. The chicken is such an easy one, and sounds delicious. I've got all the ingredients here so will try it when DH comes home in a month. He was called back (after 20 years retired) to monitor a big job going on back in his old company. He's one of the people who knows this job inside and out and is acting as a "monitor-observer" of the outside company they have hired to do this job that he used to head up when he was Superintendent there. Supposedly, all he's supposed to do it WATCH and OBSERVE, but knowing him, he'll be crawling around in and under and over everything. It was a real treat for him to be asked to do this - when you've been gone for 20 years, you figure they don't even remember your name! He'll be gone almost 4 weeks, so I'm holding down the fort here at home, and I just took him this morning to the airport - miss him already!

I worry about his precarious health situation, but I've had to resign myself to the fact that if something bad should happen to him while he's doing this, it will happen with him doing something he loves and that's the way he'd wish it. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed and sending up a prayer for his health to hold out. He's had a rocky winter - atrial fibrillation, on Coumadin, having had several cardioversion procedures, etc - he's fairly stable right now, but one never knows.

This is a month I can work on cleaning out the closets, refrigerator, and cupboards prior to our leaving for Cape Cod in early June.

Thanks again, Gina for the great recipes - I'll be trying all of them!

Love, June
