Thank you for your thoughts on yeast dough. I will try the pan of water method next time.

I know for a fact the yeast was alive, it bubbled up in my bowl. Everything was measured correctly too. My kitchen is such a cool area, I don't think any dough will rise in it.

I learned all of this is culinary school, but I guess my kitchen is just too cool of a place for yeast dough. Maybe if I keep the oven on to warm up my kitchen? I will give it a try. Thanks Kelly.
