I'll try to look for dry buttermilk in the store. But will certainly try the suggestion of adding vinegar to milk.

Thanks again. I am amazed at the prompt responses I've received. This is a really great site!!!!

June, we use the metric system here. But I lived 5 years in the USA in the 1980s and have learnt to use your system too!
Ahhhh, local baking recipes ..... hmmmmm...... lol .... I cannot think of any at the moment! But I will keep this in mind and will post some recipe once I get my hands on it!

I must admit that I have always baked "Western" cakes and cookies -- married to an Australian (lol).

Will certainly be visting this wonderful site again!!!
