Dear Donna: The trick for the grapenuts to sink slowly into the batter

is to cover them with all purpose flour before adding to the mix. You can leave them 10 minutes into the flour & then take them out from the flour without taking out the flour covering them & then, add them to the mix. I certainly hope that someone can help you with the right recipe.
