great ideas

Misc.

orinigally thanks to Jo for the first tip --- i'll try it!

then i loved the empty nest ideas.

I ahve no empty nest but have been blest over the years to have NEVER been given pressure as to where or who'll we'll see.

Now i am the one who would ususually do the inviting and all come here -- to us where the kids can be at home and comphy -- i have never had the pressure some feel from in lwas or own mother to have aperfect house whatever so this has been fine -- some years it might have been nice to get an invite but .... all in all it has been easy for me.

I would encourage any empty nester to remember this when inviting and planning -- i have friends who tell horror stories -- mom and i used to like to have my sister's full family come for new years for Christmas that way we could shop the bargins for her kids (mom and I were on our own for quite a while)

Wehn we have not been near family we have made a tradition of carroling witht he kids on Christmas eve to folks in church and to being a hommade goodie to leave ... this grew to 30 floks one yr!! HA!
