Nancy, wear comfortable shoes!

Misc.

We lived in Iowa for 4 years and went to the Amanas several times. It is well worth the trip and a very enjoyable day. We would park in each village and walk around the entire place, so wear comfortable shoes! Also, be prepared for any weather - we have gone there when it was hot only to have the temperature drop, and vice versa. Be sure to sample the different foods, don't miss the cheese shop, some of the smaller places are almost better than the main Amana! Be sure to visit the clock shop and the furniture shop - it is kind of by itself and is named "Schantz" if I remember correctly. Plan to spend the entire day, or even overnight if you have time and can afford it. It is just a lovely place and well worth the trip and the time. Enjoy!
