I normally use

It is this reason that I usually just use a paring sized knife for all my cutting. I have taken a big step and just bought a 6 inch utility knife. Then I will graduate to a 6 inch chef's knife. The longer ones just scare me too much.

I bought the knife a week or two ago and haven't really done any chopping since then (I made Artichoke Chicken twice. I was too lazy to cut onions and the chicken, olives and artichokes I just cut up in my hand.)

I've taken my first 1/2 a baby step by buying the knife.
