Jeanne, it's not a great picture of the room itself, because

Misc.
the curtains had to be closed for the picture to turn out that day. The cook's library has Martha Stewart's colors of scone on the ceiling & fiddlehead green on the walls. Over the fiddlehead I sponged copper metalic paint, going for the aged copper patina look. Sometimes it looks brocaded, which was not what I was going for, but I am happy with it anyway. I painted the adjoining bathroom scone & then mixed scone with fiddlehead to achieve a lighter green which I used on the linen closet door, a wooden shelving unit, a picture frame and the wooden frame around the mirror over the sink. I have never been a big fan of green, but I really like the way it came out. Mind you, this was AFTER a project with a still questionable outcome consisting of painting an extra bedroom lavender & sponging grays & white over it. After several "follow-up" changes it's livable. I am having a hard time staying focused on anything at the moment, what with 8 days left until we leave for our Italy trip! Not sure how I will sit still for a haircut on the 20th. I'm always in trouble with the hairdresser for just crossing my legs while he's cutting my hair, not sure what he will do with me levitating 5 inches off the seat!
