Thank You: Thank you!

Misc.
Dear Jeanne and June,
Does EVERYONE live in sunny FLORIDA?? The weather sounds so great---I'm jealous! But I have to say, it is sunny and about 30 degrees outside, and I can just smell that great spring earth. We still have patches of snow, but they should melt this week, as it's supposed to be in the 40's and 50's all week. Thank you so much for welcoming me to the board, you both sound so nice! I went to two open houses today, and got lots of great ideas! Both houses were just what I like--kind of country, nothing cutesy, but a nice warm homey feeling, with bits of country touches here and there. One thing I saw that I really liked was that instead of curtains on the windows in the kitchen, one lady had berries on vines wrapped around decorative metal curtain rods with wonderful finials or whatever you call them on the ends of the rods. I loved how it looked! Also, she had stenciled (I love to stencil) around several rooms in a very interesting way, sometimes from the floor up to about halfway around a door or closet, and other times wrapped around a window frame or doorway from the top down. It looked great, so I think this summer I'll be experimenting in the hall upstairs where I can hide my mistakes from visitors! As soon as we got home, my husband went to the store to get some MORE WOOD for a new project he dreamed up for built-in shelves and a desk area for our bedroom. With me, it's fabric and shoes. With him, it's WOOD!!! But you know what they say....the one who dies with the most fabric, wins! I know I'm a contender!
My banana chiffon cake turned out beautiful today! I'm going downstairs to frost it right now, and I'll think of warm, sunny Florida with every bite I take! Have a wonderful rest of the day, and I look forward to hearing from you again soon! I notice we sound like the Three Musketeers---Joansy, Jeanne (my sister's name, too!), and June!

Love from Indy,
Joansy
