Kirsch in cheese fondue

Misc.

Kirsch is a colorless brandy that is distilled from the fermented juice of
black cherries.
I believe it is available in the US under a brand name called Hirams Kirschwasser. This is not to be confused with Kirsch Schnapps which is
more like a liquor, however. Real kirschwasser is not sweet at all.
If you can't get imported Kirschwasser from Germany or France, make sure
you do not get a liquor. Good luck finding it! Try to find a store that sells
German products, if there is one in your vicinity.
