Recipe: Mushroom/Cheese Fondue

Fresh Mushroom Fondue

2 3-oz. pkgs. Frieda's Fresh Oyster Mushrooms, chopped
2 tbsp. butter or margarine
1/2 cup dry white wine
2 cups Monterey Jack, Swiss, or mild colby cheese, shredded
French or Italian bread cubes for dipping

Saute mushrooms in butter or margarine till liquid cooks away. Place mushrooms in food processor bowl or blender container; cover and process till pureed. Place mushroom puree in saucepan with wine and cheese; stir over medium-low heat till mixture is melted. Transfer to a fondue pot or chafing dish with low flame to keep mixture the consistency for dipping. Serve with French or Italian bread chunks for dipping. Makes 3 cups fondue.
