Ingrid, I havee severe arthitis, so the bread machine is a lifesaver for me. I do not use the recipes that came with the booklet, I make up my own. I am sure you are right about the texture, but not all of us are so fortunate. I have also bought some for some group homes for learning disabled adults, they make the dough in there and then shape into rolls. Again, I gave them a special recipe.
so please don't put bread machines down, some of us don't have a choice.
