Sturdy mock-gingerbread houses for Kelly

Kelly, I have done this in the past for decorating with children.  The milk cartons make a great foundation for the graham cracker walls and roof...especially if you're going to make ahead and transport.  Start now to collect the milk cartons.

Icing made from merigue powder is definitely the way to go for icing the roof. It makes excellent glue to adhere the candies.  I believe we used Necco wafers or Wheat Chex cereal for the roof and sugar wafers for shutters.  Just be prepared for a mess!  All the zip bags and wet wipes in the world can't prepare you for what is to come. I suggest vinyl tableclothes and lots of helpers!
