Recipe: Meat Loaf with a Twist (Franco-American Gravy recipe, 1994)

1 (10 1/4 ounce) can Franco-American beef gravy
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup salsa, divided use
6 cups hot cooked mashed potatoes (for serving)
Mix 1/4 cup gravy, beef, bread crumbs, egg and 1/4 cup salsa thoroughly. In baking pan shape firmly into 8- by 4-inch loaf.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 1/4 hours or until meat loaf is no longer pink (160 degrees F.).
In small saucepan mix 2 tablespoons drippings, remaining gravy and remaining salsa. Heat through. Serve with meat loaf and mashed potatoes.
Makes 6 servings
