Recipe: Hellmann's Mayonnaise Doughnuts

HELLMANN'S MAYONNAISE DOUGHNUTS

3 eggs
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup Hellmann's mayonnaise*
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 tsp nutmeg
7 cups flour
4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 cups sour milk or soured milk**

Beat eggs and add sugar and beat again. Add mayonnaise, vanilla, and nutmeg. Mix dry ingredients together and add egg mixture alternately with sour milk.

Roll out, cut and fry.

*Do not use Miracle Whip - it absorbs too much grease to the doughnut.

**To sour sweet milk, add slowly 2 tablespoons vinegar or 1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice to 1 cup of sweet milk, stirring constantly. Let stand 5 minute before using. I prefer lemon juice.
