ORANGE NUT BREAD
from the Nut Tree restaurant
3/4 cup sugar
3 tablespoons soft butter
2 eggs
1 cup finely chopped orange rind (2 oranges)
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
2 1/4 cups sifted all purpose flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
Gradually add sugar to butter, beating until fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Beat in chopped orange rind and nuts.
Sift flour with baking powder and salt. Add small amounts to first mixture alternately with milk, beating smooth after each addition. Pour into greased 9x5x3 inch loaf pan.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 55 to 60 minutes or until done. cool on rack.
