Recipe: 7 minute frosting

Desserts - Fillings, Frostings

Seven-Minute Frosting

time: 25 minutes

1 1/2 cups sugar
1/3 cup cold water
2 egg whites
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar or 2 tsp light-colored corn syrup
1 tsp vanilla

1. In the top of a double boiler combine sugar, cold water, egg whites, and cream of tartar or corn. Beat with an electric mixer on low speed for 30 seconds.

2. Place over boiling water (upper pan should not touch water). Cook, beating constantly with the electric mixer on high speed, about 7 minutes or till frosting forms stiff peaks. Remove from the heat; add vanilla. Beat 2 to 3 minutes more or til it reaches spreading consistency. This frosts the tops and sides of two 8- or 9-inch cake layers or one 10-inch tube cake.Hope this is what you are looking for . . .
