Bacon Pasta (awesome)
Source: NurseSweethart
Servings: 6
1 (16 oz) pkg penne pasta, cook as directed
14 slices bacon, fried and crumbled
1 cup sliced button mushrooms
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 cups whipping cream
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup sliced green onions
This is one of the best pasta side dishes I have ever had or made. I am not a big pasta fan, but I loved this one and every time I make it, my kids can't get enough of it, Neither can DH. Let me know how you like it.
Cook pasta according to package directions; set aside. Cook bacon in large skillet over medium heat until crisp; remove bacon; reserve 2 tablespoons drippings in skillet. Crumble bacon and set aside. Saut sliced mushrooms and garlic in reserved drippings 3 minutes. or until tender. Stir in pasta, Parmesan cheese, whipping cream, and pepper; simmer over medium-low heat until sauce is thickened, stirring often. Stir in bacon and green onions; serve immediately
