Recipe(tried): Red Robin Carnitas Burger - Pretty close

Sandwiches
Wow this is a very old post but I have found myself looking for the same thing. I experimented a couple of months ago and came up with something I feel tastes close. Maybe just finish with some fresh squeezed lime juice upon serving. But here's what I did:

Boneless pork shoulder
Garlic cloves peeled (about 4-8 depending on size of roast)
Salt and pepper
Oil for searing
1 cup chicken stock (or 1 chicken bouillon cube with 1 cup water)

Take pork shoulder and poke holes in it about 2-inches apart and 1-inch deep. Insert 1 peeled garlic clove in each hole. Salt and pepper both sides of the pork and sear in a hot oiled cast iron pan.

Once seared on all sides, place in a crock pot on LOW setting with 1 cup of chicken stock. Cook for about 6-8 hours or until it falls apart.

Hope you enjoy it. It didn't last long in our house.
