Recipe: Beef and Rice Pie

Beef and Rice Pie
From: Wendy...Ohio
4-6 servings

Crust -1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/8 tsp pepper

Preheat oven to 350
Combine above ingredients and pack into 9 inch pie pan to form crust flute edges

Filling-
1-1/3 cups rice
1 cup water
1/2 tsp salt
1-1/2 cups tomato sauce
1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese

Combine these ingredients and pour into crust Cover with foil for 25 minutes Uncover and sprinkle top with:
3/4 cup grated cheddar cheese and 1/2 tsp chives

Bake uncovered for 10-15 minutes more. Let stand 5-10 minutes before serving.
